These are comments tweeted by the showrunner and executive producer of Law and Order SVU, Warren Leight. These comments began within a year of him being hired for one of the most high-profile, desirable jobs in television.

These are just some of his responses to fans asking about the character of Elliot Stabler, who was one of the two show leads from Seasons 1–12, and departed the series in 2011 before returning in 2021 to a new Law & Order spin-off show, Organized Crime. These are not hand-selected tweets to meet a biased POV. There are no positive tweets about the character of Elliot, and Warren has continued to mock, be rude to, and dismiss fans for the past 10 years.

Let me be clear — there are far worse fates than having a showrunner be rude to you on Twitter. This is not an attempt to garner sympathy, but rather an effort to stop the gaslighting that Warren perpetuates within the fandom. It is, to say the very least, unprofessional and petty, and fans have a right to expect better from someone in a position of power who receives a paycheck due in large part to the fans he treats so poorly.
